When we talk about best posting times on digital platforms we talk about the time where posts will receive the highest engagement and/or reach possible. Of course, there are many factors to keep in mind when we decide on the times to post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
There are many different approaches to identify the best times to post on social media. These approaches also vary depending on the field of business you are in. They also vary depending on the market, country and the users or potential customers you are targeting or intend to target. Ideally, there are some general guidelines where you can follow for your social media content calendars:
1- Be aware of your current patterns over your existing social media channels: What times are your existing fans engaging with your content?
2- Check your competitors for the times they post and the most engagement they get.
3- Play around with your posting times. If you are just launching your platforms this will help you to learn about your audience and what times are they engaging with brands’ content.
So what are the best times to post on social media? Here are the generic times:
Facebook – Monday to Friday (weekdays): 11:00
Facebook – Saturday & Sunday (weekends): 13:00 – 15:00
Twitter – Monday to Friday (weekdays): 10:00 till 15:00 and in some cases 18:00 & 19:00
Twitter – Saturday & Sunday (weekends): 11:00, 13:00, 19:00 and in some cases 20:00
Instagram – Monday to Friday (weekdays): 9:00 till 12:00 & 15:00 till 19:00 and depending on your business nature 20:00 till 22:00
LinkedIn – Monday to Friday (weekdays): 8:00 till 11:00 and then 14:00 till 17:00 do not advise weekend content on LinkedIn
There are always exceptions on social media depending on your market and the nature of your business. The above timings might apply for your business, but, they also might be somewhat irrelevant. We would advise you to be mindful of the process and test things out.
